“You won’t typically find me in the office on a Saturday from late October through early March. The best way to find me is to locate where the closest speech and debate tournament is taking place!” Mark rediscovered his high school passion for speech and debate at age 52 when he started coaching his son on the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Speech and Debate team. He thought he would be done that year since his son graduated. Over a decade later he is still coaching. “I quickly realized the parallel between coaching high school and middle school students and working with our clients. Every student is unique yet they all have goals they want to achieve in speech and debate. It is a mistake to stereotype these kids! This is a new experience and I try to show them the way to succeed. In the same way, every Pathfinder client is unique and faces challenges that require advice. They have their own special dreams and I coach them to focus on their goals to stay on the path to success. This is what Pathfinder is all about.”

Mark graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He received his Master of Taxation Degree (MTax) from the University of Akron. As a CPA and a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, Mark has a deep commitment to personal growth by maintaining a positive mental attitude and completing over 40 hours of continuing education each year. This knowledge creates the expertise to address the complex investment, tax and financial planning issues faced by Pathfinder clients.

Mark’s reputation for quality client service, good judgement and expertise was built in his professional career with some of the top accounting and professional service firms in the country. He gained experience helping people deal with market downturns, massive tax law changes and emotional life events. He learned to listen first and propose solutions later. Mark believes that people should never be treated as “a means to an end” but should be valued in every aspect of business and life.

Mark and his wife Leona have been married over 35 years and have two adult sons, Matt and Peter. He treasures his time with his family, especially time spent rooting for the Cleveland Indians, his favorite sports team!
